Power
The all new 2021 Hyundai Sonata has four trim levels and two engine options and standard FWD to fit every lifestyle. The two lower trims, the SE and SEL, come with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This 2.5L engine is an improvement upon the 2.0L in the 2020 models and offers a significant amount opf power to get you up to speed in a pinch. The two higher trims -- the SEL Plus and the Limited -- come with a 1.6L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine also mated to an automatic 8-speed automatic transmission. While the 1.6L is a smaller engine, the addition of the turbo more than makes up for it so there is no loss of power.
